Barb Young, R.N. - Agency Supervisor
Barb began working for MN in February 2003 as an R.N. She
initially worked as a field nurse until she joined the office staff in
September 2003. She was the Supervising Nurse of the pediatric cases
for the Department of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC), DCFS
and IDPA. In addition to her supervisory cases, she completed
weekly skilled nursing visits and insurance assessments when needed.
During November 2007, Barb was promoted to the position of Agency
Supervisor. Barb received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Sauk
Valley
Community College
in May 1996. Prior to her employment with MN, she
worked for the State of Illinois
for 27 years until her retirement in December 2002.
Karma Anthony, L.P.N., Director of Nursing
Karma has been with MN since 1997. She started as a Nursing
Supervisor and was promoted to Director of Nursing in 2000.
Karma received her Practical Nursing License through the Galesburg
School of Practical Nursing. Prior to working for MN, Karma
worked in physician's offices, long-term facilities and hospitals for
40 years.
Sarah Jones, R.N.,
Supervising Nurse Sarah
began working for MN in 2005 as a field staff nurse in the Rockford,
IL area. In May of 2008 she was promoted to Supervising Nurse.
Sarah supervises all Division of Specialized Care for Children (DSCC)
pediatric cases and any skilled nursing cases. She graduated in 2005
from the Rock Valley College of Nursing with her Associates of Science
in Nursing. Sarah also took certified nursing assistant courses at RVC
and received her CNA certificate in 1995. Prior to working for MN,
Sarah worked as a CNA for different hospitals and clinics before
deciding to further her education by attending college and receiving
her RN degree. In addition to working for MN, Sarah continues to work
part-time for another agency as a field nurse to keep up on her skill
level.
Pam Schaefer, R.N.,
Occupational Health Nurse
Pam has been with ESSI/MN since May 2008. Pam has a dual role with
ESSI/MN. She is the supervisor/case manager for some of our
pediatric cases. In addition, she is part of the Risk Management Team
for ESSI of Illinois. Those duties include completing safety
assessments of staff relief facilities and being the nurse liaison for
company worker compensation injuries. She is a graduate of SVCC as a
registered nurse and a graduate of National Louis University in
Chicago with a B.S.M. degree. Pam comes to ESSI/MN with 12 years of
nursing experience at a local health care facility.
Peggy Hicks, L.P.N. - Patient Care Coordinator
Peggy has been with MN since 2005. Peggy is responsible
for supervising field staff CNA's and homemakers. She makes
supervisory nursing visits every 60 days to private duty clients.
She also orders, picks, and sets up medications in mediplanners as
scheduled. Peggy received her Practical Nursing License through Sauk Valley Community College.
Prior to working for MN, Peggy worked in office nursing, nursing
homes and hospitals for 22 years and has 4 years experience in home
care.
Mary Jean Baroncini, R.N., - Staff Health Care Coordinator
Mary Jean
started working for MN in 1989. Staff Health Care
Coordinator/Flu Clinic Coordinator. Mary Jean graduated
from St. Joseph's School of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois. Prior
to working for MN, Mary Jean worked at a local hospital for 23
years.
Beth Sterk - Marketing
Director/CPR Inst. Beth has been with
Mercy Nursing since 1993. She began her Mercy Nursing career as
a Staff Relief Scheduler and was promoted to Personnel Director in
1996 where she was a member of the Rock River Human Resource
Professional Association. In 2000, Beth received her
certification as a CPR/BLS Instructor. In 2007, Beth became the Marketing
Director for the nursing division and also continues to coordinate all
aspects of Staff Relief for ESSI/Mercy Nursing. Beth's
professional background of over 20 years includes sales/marketing,
banking and customer service.
Michelle Johnson - Scheduler
Michelle began working for MN in 1999 as an On-Call Scheduler. In
2000
she joined us in the office part-time in addition to being an On-Call Scheduler.
Michelle has an Associates Degree in Fashion Merchandising and prior to working for
MN, she was
in retail management for over 20 years and also worked as an Ophthalmology receptionist for two local doctors.
Valerie Tiesman - Scheduler
Valerie began working for ESSI/MN in May of 2008. As a scheduler,
she is responsible for scheduling staff, answering phones, filing past
medical records, and maintaining office supplies. Prior to working for
ESSI/MN, Valerie had a diverse work background. Past work experience
includes scheduling surgeries for an ophthalmologist, office manager
for an optometrist, teacher's aide and working as an accountant.
